GABRIOLA ISLAND

Located in Canada in the province of British Columbia.

It is about thirty nautical miles west of the city of Vancouver in the Strait of Georgia.

It is accessible by direct float plane service from Vancouver Airport.

The most preferred route is via BC Ferries from downtown Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. Nanaimo can be accessed by BC Ferries as well as regional air carriers serving Nanaimo Airport.

The population is about four thousand  and  increases in July and August from seasonal visitors.

Politically, the island is part of the Islands' Trust. It is also represented at the Nanaimo Regional District as well as on the Nanaimo School Board.
